The subproject Biodiversity Restoration, Water Conservation, and Fire Prevention in the Wetlands of the Pantanal – Taiamã Ecological Station seeks to promote the ecological restoration of the Pantanal with social participation, building sustainability concurrently with the Pact for the Restoration of the Pantanal.

The project proposes actions to recover degraded areas and monitor regeneration in the Taiamã Ecological Station and its surroundings, as well as in fragments on the Paraguay River and areas of headwaters in the basin, as a strategy for social mobilization and understanding of the importance of maintaining the quality and quantity of water in the system as a means to ensure the environmental health of the entire wetland and consequently of the Protected Area.

It also promotes fire prevention and containment efforts in the Pantanal, together with traditional and local communities and farmers directly or indirectly linked to the different issues covered by the subproject.
