The subproject Recovery of Degraded Areas in the Marechal Cândido Mariano Rondon Biological Reserve– Miranda (Mato Grosso do Sul) aims to carry out the restoration of 25 hectares of degraded area, located inside the Marechal Cândido Mariano Rondon Municipal Biological Reserve (REBIO). As a first measure, a Recovery Plan for the degraded area will be drawn up, which should contain the initial mapping of the entire area to be worked on, with the identification and demarcation of the anthropized areas suitable for restoration. The subproject will mobilize residents of local communities, so that they become capable of contributing to the recovery process of the degraded areas of the Protected Area during the execution of the project and in the long term. For this, capacity-building on the project will be offered to those interested.
Based on the restoration plan, the process of recovering the degraded areas located inside the PA will begin, with different previously established methods, considering the characteristics of the locations to choose the most appropriate method.
